I was recently invited to check out Tommy the Turtle
(an app that helps young kids learn to code)
and post my thoughts.
Here they are! :)
Tommy the Turtle is an app that helps little ones learn to code--specifically, to use commands, sequences, and loops--in order to solve challenges and puzzles.
The website provides some basic and supplementary information about the app, which is free to download on iTunes and Google Play.
So I downloaded it onto my Google Pixel and gave it a shot. My daughter is 3, almost 3 and a half, so I played around with the app with her in mind,
seeing if I thought it would entertain her or teach her.
Fun! You can enter a series of commands, then have the turtle execute them. I will definitely play with this with my daughter and help her make that connection between the commands & the execution. Here's the link, so check it out and let me know what you think! :)
